Local Gift Guide for the Hard-to-shop-for People on your List

Hi! I’m Stephanie Parkes and I will be sharing with you some of my favorite gift ideas for the hardest-to-shop-for people on your holiday list. I’m a local Alexandrian as well as new mom, pharmacist, and blogger. Gift giving is my love language, and I love finding unique and memorable gifts for loved ones.

Your Dad:

Dads are always the toughest to buy for, and thoughtful gifts always go far. So pick out a book or two from Old Town Books that you know your dad would love. My dad happens to love fiction thrillers a-la James Patterson as well as history and war books, so I would pick something like Tana French’s “In the Woods” and Malcolm Gladwell’s “The Bomber Mafia.”

Your Mother-in-law:

Something sophisticated and personal is always good for your favorite mother-in-law. Custom stationary from Haute Papier is timeless, useful as well as stunning! I know for a fact my mother-in-law would be impressed.

Your Sister-in-law

If you can’t tell yet, I love anything monogrammed! These Stoney Clover Lane pouches sold at Bishop Boutique are customizable and come in different colors and sizes. Plus, the quality is unmatched. She will love it for years to come!

Your Brother-in-law

What’s more classic and fun than backgammon? This backgammon set from Boxwood is something you all can play on Christmas Day while you’re enjoying time with family.

Your nieces and nephews

Never know what sizes to get little ones? You can’t go wrong with a cute and chic seersucker travel duffle from Monday’s Child. They come in blue and pink and are, as you may have guessed, monogrammable! This makes for such a sweet gift that can be used for years.
